Liz Lanphier - Acupuncture
As an acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioner at the Grey Door Therapy Clinic, Brighton and Hove.
Liz brings a very non-judgmentalapproach to her work and welcomes everyone.
Liz loves her work!
"With over 10 years of practice I am still inspired by the people I meet"
Liz's background is diverse. After her first University degree in America and some post graduate work,
she worked at an Election Commission, on political campaigns, and then taught computer classes
for several years in Nebraska, Minnesota, New Jersey and New York.
Then working for a major investment bank in New York City before moving to London.
It was then, starting in 2006, Liz began her lifelong studies in Chinese medicine.
A common thread through all of that was having worked with horses since she was a child.
Horses introduced her to nature, health, healing, intuition, herbs and acupuncture.
Despite 11 years of University education, horses and nature have been Liz's greatest teachers which is why Chinese medicine resonates so deeply. It is a medicine of keen observation and listening.
Her methods float between logical, knowledge based practice and intuitive based methods.
Liz feel the most effectiveness comes from a dance between the two.
As a practitioner, she has set up and run a pain clinic and worked at a GP surgery which have helped Liz to develop skills in treating both chronic and acute pain as well as very complex cases.
In recent years she has been deepening her learning through a mentor who is teaching Advanced Acupuncture which is an incredibly powerful methodology which utilises all 68 channels of the human body
(modern acupuncture schools teach mainly the 12 primary channels).
This has been an eye opening and exciting part of Liz's practice which has allowed her access to the real power and beauty of acupuncture practice.
