Jo Smith - Humanistic Counsellor
Personal introduction
I am an experienced Humanistic counsellor who enjoys building relationships with my clients. My aim is to provide a safe, comfortable and non-judgemental space for you to explore difficult issues and begin to make sense of them.
About me
I have been working in the field of Mental Health for the past 12 years in a variety of settings.
I believe that given the right conditions we all have the capacity for growth and change.
My goal is always to understand people from their own frame of reference. I aim to build a relationship of trust where you can have time to pause, reflect and explore difficult issues and experiences. My role is to listen to you and understand your own unique experience of life.
My belief is that counselling can give clients a unique opportunity to explore themselves without judgement in a confidential space. I am here to help you find your own path, sense of self awareness and clarity to move forward in a way that serves you best.
I offer both short term and long-term counselling.
What to expect
Attending counselling for the first time can feel difficult. Whether this is your first time ever or your first time with a new counsellor.
The most important part of counselling is that you feel comfortable with the person you are talking to and feel safe enough to share your inner thoughts.
When you first contact me, I will offer a free telephone consultation. This will give you a chance to talk to me about the issues you are facing and a chance for you to ask me any questions that you may have.
If you decide that you would like to work with me, we can then book our first session.
Sessions are in person and last for 50 mins. There is also an option to work online if you would prefer.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Cost £55 per session.
