Sophie Perring -
Addiction Specialist and Psychotherapist
About Sophie and Her Therapy Practice
Sophie believes that everyone has the capacity for change. With the right support and a desire to move forward, meaningful transformation is possible. She recognises that, at times, what people need most is someone to believe in them and to walk alongside them as they take those steps.
Sophie holds a BSc (Hons) in Addiction Studies and is a BACP registered Psychotherapist/Counsellor. She offers therapy face-to-face in a relaxed, confidential setting, ensuring accessibility and flexibility for clients with differing needs and circumstances.
She has extensive experience working with substance misuse and addiction, supporting clients to explore and shift long-established patterns and behaviours. Her work often includes relapse prevention, identifying triggers, managing stressful situations, and building resilience and self-empowerment to support sustained recovery.
Sophie also specialises in working with Compulsive Sexual Behaviour Disorder (CSBD), including sex and pornography addiction, helping clients understand underlying drivers and develop healthier, more sustainable strategies for managing recovery.
In addition, Sophie works with survivors of suicide, offering a safe and reflective space to explore what has led them to that point. She also supports those bereaved by suicide, providing compassionate care as they process loss and begin to move forward.
