Peter Coombes - Sex Addiction Therapy
Peter Coombes Dip.CPCAB,CSA trained at Clouds House in Wiltshire in 2003 and qualified as an addictions therapist with the
Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).
From 2004 to 2006 he worked at Quinton House in Bournemouth, an inpatient extended care
addiction treatment centre, and from 2006 to 2011 at
The Priory Hospital Southampton on the inpatient Addiction Treatment Program.
From 2009 to 2011 Peter trained in the USA with Dr Patrick Carnes through the
International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) and qualified as a
Certified Sex Addiction Therapist in 2011. This enables him to use the 30 task recovery program they developed and which is proving highly effective in helping sex addicts to achieve and maintain recovery.
His work with partners of sex addicts to helps them overcome the trauma of discovering their partner’s addiction.
Peter has been in private practice since 2011 and has worked at
the Grey Door Therapy Clinic since 2016.
